The Red Heart movement is ....

A powerful Australian movement created to make sure women and children lost to violence are never forgotten. Founded by Sherele Moody, the movement gently holds space for grief, truth-telling, remembrance and advocacy. Through memorials, storytelling, research and awareness campaigns, it shines a light into places that for too long were kept hidden in silence.

In whimsical child friendly, trauma-informed words........

The RED HEART Movement is like a field of tiny glowing red hearts, each one whispering, “You mattered. You still matter.”

It gathers the stories of women and children whose lives were stolen by violence and wraps them in dignity, remembrance and love instead of silence and shame.

Sherele Moody created this movement from her own lived experience of grief and trauma, turning heartbreak into fierce compassion and advocacy for others. Her work helps families feel seen, communities feel awakened, and survivors know they are not alone.

It is not only about counting loss — it is about honouring lives, protecting futures, and planting small red seeds of awareness, justice and hope across Australia.

This rainbow double heart design is currently used on merchandise that raises funds for The Red Heart Movement.

We created this original design as a craft activity for children using cardboard & foam shapes and turned it into a digital design to show our support for all the efforts that Sherele continues to contribute to honour women & children.

PLEASE feel free to enjoy these printables to share & raise awareness.

By far Sherele Moody is the most respectful honest media outlet for reports on femicide.

People feel that Sherele Moody approaches reporting on femicide with a level of humanity, care and accountability that is often missing in mainstream media coverage. Through The RED HEART Movement and Australian Femicide Watch, her work centres the lives of women and children lost to violence rather than sensationalising perpetrators or reducing victims to headlines.

What stands out to many supporters is that her reporting is deeply trauma-informed, family-centred and advocacy-driven. She documents names, stories, patterns and systemic failures while also creating memorials, campaigns, vigils and public awareness projects so victims are not forgotten.

Unlike much traditional crime reporting, her work often focuses on:

*dignity and remembrance,

*the impacts of coercive control and domestic violence,

*listening to families and survivors,

*calling for systemic change,

*and making visible the scale of femicide in Australia.

Many families impacted by violence have publicly supported her work because they feel heard, respected and represented with compassion.
